Terms of Service

Our terms and conditions

Last updated: February 2026

1. Service Description

Licit AI is a free online tool that provides indicative risk classification of AI use cases under the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689). The tool is operated by Bdub.digital.

2. Not Legal Advice

Licit AI does not provide legal advice. Classifications generated by this tool are indicative assessments based on a rule-based engine that maps your inputs to specific articles and annexes of the EU AI Act. They are provided for informational purposes only.

For binding legal opinions on your AI Act compliance obligations, consult a qualified legal professional. Licit AI cannot and does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any classification result.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to submit bulk classifications
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the classification logic or rules engine
  • Scrape, reproduce, or redistribute classification results at scale
  • Use the service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair its operation

4. Intellectual Property

The classification engine, methodology, user interface, and all associated content are owned by Bdub.digital. You may share your individual classification results freely (including via LinkedIn or other social platforms). You may not reproduce the classification engine or its logic.

5. Limitation of Liability

Licit AI is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Bdub.digital shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to any reliance on classification results.

6. Data

Your use of Licit AI is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which describe how we collect, use, and protect your data.

7. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Licit AI at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. This includes the right to block access from specific IP addresses or regions if necessary to maintain service quality.

8. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Licit AI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
